In the year 1927, a man named Philo Farnsworth transmitted the first electronic picture. It was the first demonstration of a T.V. broadcast system. I am interested in the television technology because I am a huge television fanatic and love to watch shows and movies all the time. It amazes me that when television first started developing, it only carried thirteen channels and now we have thousands in high definition because of digital television. If that is not interesting enough, others should be interested in the fact that there are four main features that make digital television better than other televisions. The images have wider aspect ratios, better solutions, better color, and better sound. According to lecture, “all televisions in America need to have the ability for digital television” (Dr. Chad Mahood).
The advancement of Television is a great achievement for those in the Technology department. One question I've had in mind for some time is that we (as people with access to current Technology) are hitting the threshold where technology stops advancing functionality and starts building up gimmicks like the upcoming 3D-TV era. Television started as black-and-white, then color, and then standard and high-definition quality. Will we really need the "newest" addons like 3D Televisions or will we stick with what we currently have?
ReplyDeleteTelevision is definitley a huge part of most of our lives, especially those of us (whom I assume is the majority of us) who are Americans. When I have traveled to Europe many times I have found that TV just isn't a top priority or something that is constantly discussed over there. However, we all grew up watching the same shows and watching TVs evolve.

I love your history and ideas in regards of television and the direction is going as well. I totally agree about Philo Farnsworth because he was the first electronic picture. This was the first demonstration of a television broadcast system. Without Farnsworth's brillant idea, television would not has happened in today's global market.
